The Best Mumford & Sons Songs For Any Situation
Genius

Whether you’re sad, eager, or need reassurance, there is a Mumford & Sons song for that! Here is a list of what songs to listen to when you’re in these moods.

"Below My Feet" - for when you need a reminder of who you are.

“Keep the earth below my feet, for all my sweat, my blood runs weak, let me learn from where I have been.” This song is perfect for when you lose track of yourself every now and then. This song will help you remember what you stand for and why you are who you are. Remembering where you are in comparison to where you used to be is usually a good confidence booster.

"Hopeless Wanderer" - for when you’re feeling adventurous.

“Don’t hold a glass over the flame, Don’t let your heart grow cold, I will call you by name, I will share your road.” If you’re itching to travel, hike, or even just to do something new, do it. There are very little chances in life to do the things you want. This song gives me the motivation to quit saying I want to do something and makes me actually do it.

"Little Lion Man" - for when you realize you screwed up.

“But it was not your fault but mine, And it was your heart on the line.” This song is a good one to listen to when you’ve come to the realization that you were in the wrong in a certain situation. Although you messed up, this song gives you the feeling that you can make things right again.

"White Blank Page" - for when you have a broken heart.

“But tell me now, where was my fault? In loving you with my whole heart?” Listen to this track when you’re going through a heartbreak. It is one of Mumford’s most passionate songs and is a great song to sing at the top of your lungs when you need a good scream. The lyrics are perfect and make you feel like you’re not alone in your situation.

"Ghosts That We Knew" - for when you need to leave the past behind.

“But the ghosts that we knew will flicker from view, And we’ll live a long life.” Everyone goes through major changes in life. Sometimes, the hardest part is learning when to let go of certain things of your past. This song is a perfect reinforcement that it’s a good thing to let go. Whether it’s an unhealthy friendship or an unwanted town, letting go is a part of life. Listen, and you will understand when it’s a good thing.

"Timshel" - for when you feel alone.

“As brothers we will stand and we’ll hold your hand.” This is a great song to listen to when you feel isolated and alone. Timshel will remind you of all the great people you have in your life and the support they give you.

"Tompkins Square Park" - for when you’re wondering if you did the right thing.

“But no flame burns forever, you and I both know this all too well.” Sometimes the hard thing to do is the right thing to do. This song is applicable to any situation that you know needs to be done, but feels uncomfortable. It could be from a breakup to leaving home for college.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
