Dear Best Friend I Left For College,
Some of the reasons I went so far away to school was to have a fresh start. A fresh start sounds great, until you realize what you are leaving behind.
It wasn't the town, the restaurants, or the beautiful view that was hard leaving; it was the people. But most importantly, it's that special person I left behind, my best friend.
Although we talk a couple times a week, it is not the same as having you living across the street from me and being there whenever needed.
So, here's to you.
I just wanted to say thank you for all that you have done for me over the past 17 years.
Thank you for the endless support you have given me over the years, the sleepless sleepovers (like that whole month I stayed at your house a couple summers ago), beauty days, clothes exchanges, and just being you. Thank you for being someone I can celebrate with during my good times, and thank you for being someone I can turn to when times were bad.
You know that I believe that everything happens for a reason. And I believe that you were put in to my life for a reason. Words can not describe how blessed I am to have you in my life.
Saying goodbye to you was one of the hardest things that I had to do and I know it was hard for you too. I've said this before and I'm always going to remind you, that I am only a text/phone call/FaceTime away. No matter what time it is, I will be there for you.
Remember that no one could ever replace you.
I know that you are going to make the right decisions and do what is best for you. I also know that wherever your path may take you, you are going to find your place. I can't wait to see the person that you become as we grow older and I can't wait to see all the things you accomplish.
Again, thank you for everything you have done for me and I'll see you at Christmas time.
Lots of Love,
Your Best Friend
