Finding Out I'm Having A Baby Was The Best Day Of My Life
Brandi Todd

Just like every normal teen- I was going out with friends, staying out past my curfew. One day I met this guy; love at first sight. I know what everyone is thinking, yeah right. We were together every day for months. One day out of blue, I got a call from my doctor "YOU'RE PREGNANT!". I was so scared, overwhelmed, excited, nervous. I didn't know what to do or who to tell. I told her father- he was so excited.

The first few months were so hard, between being sick all day to getting used to all the changes my body was making. The first two months went by, and I ended up being so sick we had to go to the hospital where they put me on IVs because I was so dehydrated. Finally, we went home. They finally gave me and my little one some medicine. YUMMY! Now we could eat! The morning sickness still didn't go away completely. My favorite foods were ruined. A few more months went by and we started growing! Bigger and bigger! Favorite clothes? Tossed out the door. The doctor appointments were such a blast. The first time seeing the tiny person you created. Hearing their little heartbeat. Feeling the tiny kicks. Nothing beats all of it. There are always those people who stare and give you dirty looks. The emotions are like a roller coaster- happy one minute, sad the next. Nobody ever knows how we're gonna feel. One of the great things is all the shopping you get to do and the decorating for the nursery.

Around the 8th month, my little one started measuring small and my fluids started getting low. I was in so much pain. I couldn't sleep. It was hard to walk. My doctor sent me to a doctor who specializes in fetal growth. We went to the doctor and they came in and did an ultrasound. She came back and told us our baby girl was just ready to make her appearance. So, we set a day to be induced! We woke up and got our things together and headed over to the hospital. At 6 am the nurses hooked me to IVs, got my paperwork, and started labor. The pain was excruciating. Thank gosh for epidurals, right? My labor went by fast. Eight and a half hours. FINALLY, we had a beautiful baby girl at 2:27 pm on November 8, 2016. When I laid my eyes on her for the first time, it was like fireworks were in the hospital room with us. Nothing can compare to the feeling of having a child. It was the best day of my life.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
