There is no doubting 2013 was one for the books. The unlucky year has finally drawn to a close but not without leaving a legacy of marvelous highs and turbulent lows. So, I thought it would be a good idea to recap the good, bad, and ugly that made up 2013.
Good:
Grumpy Cat: Grumpy Cat became one of the biggest stars of the year with having his own meet and greets, toy line, and much more. I might be biased just because I love cats, but either way Grumpy Cat had a great year.
Vines: Every form of social media soon became consumed with vines i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and literally anywhere else you could think to see them. You can’t even escape them in your dreams….
Side-Eying Chloe: If you have not seen Chloe’s face plastered all over the internet, I’m sorry to tell you that you actually haven’t been living life. Chloe embodies everyone’s true feelings about anything that does not pertain to sleeping and eating, since everyone loves to eat and sleep.
Jennifer Lawrence: Is there any more that needs to be said? Everything she does is perfect….
Movies: I don’t know if it is just me, but the movies that came out this year seemed to be so much more prime than past years. I mean, Wolf of Wall Street, Her, and so many other legendary films.
Bad:
Twerking: Twerking is the absolute WORST trend of 2013. There isn’t anything cute about it…. So you should stop doing it.
Miley Cyrus: This goes with the twerking. This year just wasn’t her year. What happened to the Party in the USA girl that everyone fantasized about?
Planking: I think we can all agree that planking was stupid. So I think it is best that you take down your planking album on Facebook and save yourself from any further embarrassment.
The “Keep Calm” posts: The original “Keep Calm” British poster was cool, but then everyone felt the need to change it to something dumb, and they all got really tiring after awhile. I am pretty sure I unfollowed everyone on Twitter that posted a photo of one.
Harlem Shake Videos: I will admit, there are a few cool Harlem Shake videos, like the one where they all dance underwater or the zoo with all the animals. But I hate to break the news to you, no one really wants to see a video of you and your friends trying to be funny and dancing. You might think it is funny because it is you, but on behalf of other people, we all just laugh out of pity.
