I went through my four years of college without a boyfriend, and I often wonder how it would've been different if I had had one. Would we have went on cute dates? Would we have studied together? Would we have watched the football games holding hands? But then I realize, there is so much going on in college... and there is no way I had time in my busy college career to also focus on a boyfriend. That takes up time -- a lot of time. It's a big commitment! I can now say proudly, looking back at my college career, that I have thoroughly enjoyed being single in college. And this is why.

1. You have more time to focus on your friends.

(Friends that are more fun than a boyfriend anyway.)

2. You have more time for yourself.

...and the ability to do what you want to do -- when you want to do it.

3. You have your whole life to be settled down with one person.

Why date in college during a time when you have the most freedom to just do you?

4. You can really appreciate Beyonce's "Single Ladies."

And it has more meaning to you when you hear it at a party.

5. You meet more people.

... and probably go out a lot more.

6. You become more open-minded.

And can explore possibilities you might otherwise not have.

7. You have more time to focus on school.

It sounds nerdy, but hey, it's true.

8. You have more time to better yourself and figure out who you are as a person.
