The Belief Of An Undecided Millenial

Don't judge me.

I am a millennial. I work full-time, will be attending college with a complete class load, own my own car I bought myself, and pay rent. You will tell me I am one of few, but as I look around there many others just like me. I’m a millennial. I refuse to decide on a political party because it is unnecessary and primarily the reason our country is failing. I’m a millennial. I read books and Facebook posts but I’m well aware of which one is more knowledgeable if you were concerned. I support the LGBTQ community because politics should have no correlation with who you love. I believe that as long as there is a drug epidemic in this country addiction should be seen as an illness instead of a crime. I believe in volunteering and working for everything you receive. I'm a millennial.

I believe that there is no way that Donald Trump will make America great again but neither will Hillary and if you ask me who I’m going to vote I will sternly tell you neither. I will not choose between the less of two evils when I can vividly view both of their corruption. Hilary clearly should have been charged for her crimes in Benghazi and can’t we realize that shady business is what landed America in the boat we are in now? Trump’s tried business ethics would just make it worse. I’m a millennial. I believe in unity and independence but not seclusion of those we are told are inferior. I’m disgusted by politics and how the union has changed from its originality to a corrupt system in which the people no longer have control. Before I am anything I am a human and I will give everyone else I look at the same dignity to be solely a human also. I’m a millennial.

My opinions are ever changing because I have been taught to keep an open mind. I won't fall into the media trap that has seamlessly tore this country apart and I advise you to not either. This world has so much possibility for me to be optimistic about and considering I am a millennial and we are statistically the most optimistic generation I guess that fits. Clearly not every millennial has the same views as me but isn't that the point? That we can all be from the same era but think out of our own boxes. So please before you title me “another millennial”, remember that a few people's actions do not define us as a whole. I am a millennial, but before I am anything, I am human. Please treat me as so. God bless.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
