I have always been a strong believer that kindness does and will always make a difference. Now and days we live in a world full of negativity it which drastic events take place. So what is being kind? Helping those around you in need. Lending them a hand, a shoulder, offering them the support they need to move forward. Giving someone a compliment. Doing something so simple as to opening the door for them or helping them pick up something they dropped at the grocery store.
I think it's so simple to be able to spread kindness.
Maybe that's just me being me, but how great would this world be if we all decided to help one another in times of need? I have witness people being kind and as always my heart gets nothing but full. One time, as I was walking down the streets of Chicago with my friends there was a guy asking for extra change because he was 10 cents short and couldn't afford his burger. A man that was heading that direction told him "Sir I don't have extra change. But what I can do for you is go there with you and buy you whatever you'd like from the menu." The reaction that man had, that was what I call the beauty of being kind. He was so grateful that someone had come along and had helped him more than he was expecting it.
If you are old school like me and you still stay tuned to see the news on TV or read the newspaper or if you're a cool kid now that is more active on social media we can see different stories in which people are spreading kindness. Teachers helping their students by buying them school supplies, something as big as to see a video of a brother willingly giving his sibling his kidney to save his life, or even something as small as to see a mother and daughter buying flowers and giving them out in a Jewel parking lot to make a strangers day better. All of these and more are great examples of kindness.
A personal experience that I've had, is near where I live I used to see a homeless guy with his dog. One day I decided to have a conversation with him, ask him if he was okay if he needed anything. He was very surprised but only replied: "I am okay but thank you, sweetheart". I decided to walk down the street, buy him water, chips, buy him a few sandwiches and then head over to the pet store and buy his dog some treats too. I walked towards him again and he was so touched he started to cry. Me being the sensitive person that I am, I started to cry with him. It was truly a beautiful experience which only took $20 dollars and 5 minutes to do.
Compliment someone today. Offered them help if they need it, help me and help the world by spreading the kindness we all need in this world. This world would be even more beautiful if we got rid of the hate and stick to creating happiness within ourselves and others.
