For those of you who know me, you know how much the Beatles mean to me. They have seriously changed my life, growing up listening to them and listening to them now are just a part of me at this point. There are a lot of reasons I love The Beatles, but here are some reasons why everyone should give them a listen once in a while.

John Lennon: my dad's personal favorite Beatle. He seriously was a life-changer with music. If you listen to any modern music, you should probably thank him first. 10/10 would recommend the movie Nowhere Boy for a better look on his life. We lost him too soon. Some of my favorite songs that he wrote are: "Give Peace a Chance" and "Beautiful Boy".

Paul McCartney: still alive and kicking, has been singing for decades. Without him, John Lennon would've been a little lost. He's my personal favorite. I hope to see one of his concerts before he retires because he's just so authentic and loves his work. Also, he did a mannequin challenge on twitter, so check that out. Some of my favorite songs that he's written are: "Four Five Seconds", "Maybe I'm Amazed" (one day to be my wedding song), "Band on the Run", "Live and Let Die", "Wonderful Christmastime", "No More Lonely Nights", "Here Today" (a real tear jerker), "Let it Be", "All You Need is Love", and "Something".

Ringo Starr's Drumming: considering he was technically The Beatle's second choice, he's pretty awesome. He's so talented. When I was little, he was my favorite because I saw him as "The Underdog" in my eyes. I really like his approach to his music. Some of the songs he's written throughout his life are: "It Don't Come Easy", "Photograph", "You're Sixteen" and "Back off Boogaloo".

Their Accents: they're from the UK! Fun Fact: they were asked to emphasize their accents more during their music because their Record Company said that their accents were a real selling point.

Their Humor: when you watch videos of their interviews, or even when you listen to their music. You can tell they're having a blast. If you listen to their songs extra carefully you can hear their little messages and comments that they didn't necessarily intend to be in the final cut of songs, but they made it.

Their Commitment to Costumes: the Sgt. Pepper's album cover should say it all.

The Abbey Road Medley: if you haven't listened to it, do it now. While you read this article. In my opinion, it's the most epic Beatle Medley out there, and they intended it to be that way. Also, Visiting Abbey Road in London (as nerdy as this sounds), was one of my favorite experiences while being abroad. The medley is 16 minutes long and has more styles than any medley you'll ever experience. It's the best.

They're so Talented: every single one of them is awesome. They don't just play guitar or drums, most of them play multiple other instruments. More often than not, when you listen to their songs and there are weird instruments playing, it's them. Also, when you watch them perform, they just look like they're having a bomb ass time.

They're so Photogenic: they literally look good even when they don't try to. Google it.

Aside from all this, their cartoons are freaking hilarious, their movies are brilliant, and they all around changed the way we see music forever. If you appreciate the music we listen to today, know that 9/10 times, the Beatles inspired them. They're just iconic. That's all I can say.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
