The Bathroom Bill

Political correctness continues to destroy the American foundation.

The Bathroom Bill

And the deterioration continues…. The deterioration of our country into the land of the freeloaders and home of the pansies. The idea of political correctness continues to hold all validity in any leader’s power of making decisions and fulfilling his/her position. The bathroom bill that was passed this week with President Obama was no exception, as he does nothing but catalyze this downward spiral.

The bathroom bill allows those to identify with a gender based on mental state of mind in contrast to how it should be - their biological factors. Those in favor of such an irrational idea claim that to not do so is discriminatory, unjust, and even goes against the Constitution.

The transgender population is difficult to operationalize because of environmental factors and lack of honesty. With that being said, the population is approximately 0.3% of the ENTIRE United States’ population. With the passage of the bathroom bill, the country is compromising the safety and privacy of nearly 99.7% of the country’s population. Make sense to you? Yeah, me either.

In ancient philosophy it is almost entirely unheard of for one to favor the minority will over the individual, and majority will. According to Rousseau, it is most ideal to favor the general will (or almost unanimity) of the entire population. Because 99.7% constitutes almost the entire population, the bill is not logically justified because it compromises the safety and privacy of the majority of the country. Locke also held similar views with supporting limited government with no moral superiority; it was needed for security and order and nothing else. He even supported the idea that social stability is NOT dependent on government. Sounds like some of our liberal leaders might benefit from taking notes from these ancient professionals…

Passing this bill jeopardizes the safety of children nationwide. According to the United States’ Department of Justice, a woman is raped every two minutes. While some will argue that statistically rapes and other crimes are not likely to happen more as a result of gender-neutral bathrooms, we are also not likely to experience a terrorist attack, right?

According to Washington Times, an eight-year old little girl was attacked just last week by a man who entered a gender-neutral bathroom that she was using at the time. Her mother heard her screams and rushed to the scene only to discover a horrific site. Her daughter was being assaulted because of a man taking advantage of the gender-neutral bathrooms. One could attempt to explain the justification of these bathrooms to this woman, as I am sure she would understand.

The problem does not lie with transgenders taking advantage of children; it lies within ANYONE that chooses to take advantage of such an intimate space whether that individual be orange, yellow, black, white, transgender, homosexual, heterosexual, etc. (But please, continue to say this idea is transphobic even though it was specified here.)

As adults in the nation, it is our duty and responsibility to have the best interest of our young Americans in mind. We should be protecting them; we should be making sure they have safety and privacy in all areas of life. Allowing members of the opposite sex to utilize an intimate space that they use simultaneously is not justified in any way, shape, or form. We are not protecting them through this bill; essentially, we are exposing them to less privacy and an increased risk in encountering pedophiles (most of which are not members of the transgender community).

While I may be considered the biggest pro America advocator, my disappointment continues to grow exponentially as political correctness destroys the foundation of what the country stands for. I, personally, would love to know the reaction and response of our country’s founders to this bill. What ever happened to strong leaders with innate desire to do better? There is an immense amount of work needed to combat the liberal manipulation of the American foundation and what exactly it means to be apart of the greatest country on Earth. All I can say is y'all may want to rethink carrying some pepper spray...

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
