I, for one, could not be more thrilled that school has ended, aside from my upcoming summer school French course which I am oh so thrilled about. Now that finals are complete, I cant help but forget what it's like to have freedom; to not sit and worry about an exam or organize my assignment due dates. For the last week, I have noticed a cycle of feelings that I need to formally express as the five stages of transition into summer vacation.
1. Satisfaction.
First stage: that minute you leave your last class of the year and you almost (actually) cry.
2. Relief.
Second stage, literally feeling the stress drain from your eyeballs.
3. Excitement.
Third stage, realizing its summer vacation.
4. Confusion.
When you get home and you don't have anymore schoolwork to do.
5. Displacement.
Three days into vacation and you have no idea what to do with yourself.
6. Fear.
A week into break and you realize you will be graded for every test you took.
7. Acceptance.
At the end of the week, you made it through the school year.
So who cares if you failed your finals, it's not like you just spent thousands of dollars on classes or anything, right?
