Going to class can be rough; you wake up and contemplate how important your education actually is. I always tell myself the night before to wake up earlier with enough time to get ready so I’m not rushing myself, But as usual, I wake up 20 minutes before class, trying to get ready as fast as I can without looking like a scrub. As college students, everyday we are struggling with the idea of going to class, and we think of a million other things we could be doing with our time, like taking a nap. If you are anything like me, you may be going through these 5 steps in preparation for your next class.
1.Alarm
The dreadful moment when your final alarm goes off, you’ve snoozed several times, but at this point if you don’t get up, you definitely won’t make it to your class. You set multiple alarms, and the 20-minute snooze sessions were amazing, but now you’ve come face to face with the final warning. You contemplate even going to your class, but decide that you’ve skipped enough and you should definitely be in attendance today. You finally hit the alarm and attempt to get up.
2. Actually Getting Up
Actually getting up is a completely different process than hitting the alarm to “off”. Getting up is the real deal, and you have to tell yourself at this stage that you can’t mope around and you have to actually get ready in a timely manner. You hold yourself up, rub your eyes, stare at the wall and prepare yourself for the dreadful process of getting ready for class.
3.Getting ready
You are scrambling with limited amount of time until the last bus leaves that’ll get you to your class on time, you throw on the scrubbiest outfit you own and you don’t even bother making your makeup look good. You hate yourself because you actually wanted to look decent today, but sleep won again. You most definitely look like you just woke up, but in reality you literally did just wake up. You come to the conclusion that you don’t care what you look like and throw your hair in a messy bun, put your backpack over your shoulder and run to the bus that is about to leave in .2 seconds.
4.Transportation
The bus is waiting patiently until you’re 5 inches away from it, and then it speeds off. You come to the conclusion that the bus is not an option today, unless you want to wait 15 more minutes until the next one comes, which would definitely make you late to your class. You grab your car keys, head to your car, and make sure you have enough money to pay for the dreadful parking meter. You’re happy that you are not crowded on the bus, but you are also upset because you’re spending your hard earned cash, on parking.
5. Getting there.
You Park your car, and you’re prepared to walk into class like you didn’t basically just run a marathon to get here. You open the door to your class, walk in and notice that you arrived in a timely manner. You sit for a few minutes; open up your laptop, read some emails, only to realize that your class today has been cancelled. You look around at the other students in the class and quickly notice they are all realizing what you just realized. You breathe a sigh of relief, are mad at yourself for even attending today, and start off back to your car to head back to your bed, and resume back to your slumber.
