11 Stages Of Preparing For A Sorority Formal

Spring is just around the corner, which means it is formal season for Greek life. This is a very important time of the year: planning the event, figuring out what to wear, and who to even bring! If you're involved in Greek life, your formal experience will probably be similar to this.

1. What day will formal actually be on?

We need to put this date in our calendar many weeks in advance, and it takes FOREVER to go through people's schedules and pick out the perfect day.

2. I need to have the perfect dress...

It doesn't matter if it's long or short. You just want to be the best looking girl there.

3. Who should I bring as my date this year?

If you don't have a boyfriend, this can be the hardest thing. Should I bring a guy from our brother fraternity? Or a totally different fraternity? Or should I just go with my girls?

4. Wait, HOW much are tickets?

Formal tickets are expensive, but in most cases you're paying for the meal and the venue. So, it will be a bit pricey.

5. I forgot to bring my heels back from home!

A tragedy to any sister. It happens to at least one of us (AKA me a few weeks ago). Hopefully, you have some Kohls Cash to spend on a new pair of hot heels.

6. How am I going to do my hair?

If you're like me and don't know how to use a curling iron, you will be in for a bad time. Unless someone will grace you with their hair magic and help you achieve your princess look.

7. Will there be a carpool?

Saving money and getting pumped with your girls? Priceless.

8. Wait, are we lost?

The perks of going to a venue out of town. It's fine, we'll get there eventually...right?

9. Do I look OK in this picture?

Maybe I won't put this one on Facebook.

10. When will the food be here?

This is the moment I have been waiting for all day. I am ready to consume this three-course meal like a champ.

11. Ok, time to boogie on the dance floor!

Get down with your bad self!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
