The 10 Types of People in Group Pictures

Group pictures are kind of a given of life whether you want it to be true or not. Years of getting dragged into them have helped me recognize some recurring characters in just about every group picture. Let's begin:

1. The Peace Signer

Obviously the name is self-explanatory, but no matter what, the peace sign will always make its way into a group photo. It literally makes no difference if someone calls out "let's do a normal picture, guys!" prior to actually taking the picture-- it will always make an appearance.

2. The Blinker

This person can never seem to keep their eyes open when they need to. They have the ability to ruin an otherwise flawless picture. And it never feels right to blame them for this since they simply "can't help it" but hey, this is one of the reasons why we have Photoshop right?

3. The No-Show

Everyone is all poised and ready to take the picture with everybody and be done, but someone's always missing. Unfortunately, depending on the size of your group, many times this is realized only after the picture has been taken and everyone has dispersed and gone their separate ways. Luckily enough, there is a big chance someone in the group will be able to work some editing magic and get this elusive person into the picture. We all know that's probably easier and than getting everyone back together again.

4. Hoverhand Alert

So close, but so so far.I like to classify this as being one of those "good intentions, poor execution" situations. Generally, whoever is actually doing the hoverhand is trying to avoid awkward touching and the such by doing this, but instead, the camera just ends up capturing a moment of extreme discomfort.

5. Forever Out of Frame

Whatever it may be-- too tall, too short, too far out-- someone is bound to get cut out of the picture. The key thing to remember though is that it's nothing personal.

6. The Unamused One

You will never ever see this person smiling on camera. They may be having a blast literally seconds before the picture, but those moments never seem to be captured. Instead, this joy is typically replaced with a stone cold expression. *two seconds later: laughs and smiles*

7. The Always Doing Some Hand Thing

Gang signs? Hang loose? Greek letters? What are you doing, bro? It's very rare to this person not making some kind of sign with their hands during a picture. It's pretty much a natural instinct now at this point.

8. Looking at the Wrong Camera

Yes, perhaps there are multiple cameras in the situation, but this person always seems to be looking off into space or just blatantly in the wrong direction. You're almost there! Just look the other way!

9. The Photobomber

Photobombers are the very reason behind why we usually take some many pictures each time. Maybe it's just someone strolling by trying to make a statement, or just a group member who thinks they're very funny, but this is another given when it comes to taking pictures with large numbers of people.

10. The One Who's Never Satisfied with the Picture

You can count on this person to make sure no one goes too far after the initial picture, because chances are after they check it, you're gonna have to retake it. This cycle has the potential to be repeated numerous times.

May you all overcome the dysfunctionality and achieve the perfect group picture someday!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
