Friends are such an important part of our lives and it's definitely necessary to have friends to turn to in any situation. But all friends are different and here is a list of the 10 types of friends I think everyone needs in their lives.
1. The friend who listens.
Everyone needs that one friend that they can talk to about anything and everything. Someone who is a good listener and gives their full attention--who doesn't judge or criticize but rather listens attentively and gives their genuine advice or support.
2. The friend who can laugh with you.
This is the friend that will laugh at you if you do something clumsy. They make all of your embarrassing moments almost bearable and can always cheer you up. Someone who gets your sense of humor and can make you laugh until you cry.
3. The friend who challenges your ideas.
It's perfectly normal to argue with friends. This friend teaches you how to get over arguments and move on.
4. The friend who competes with you.
Friendly competition is healthy and can make you strive to be the best you can be.
5. The friend who is your complete opposite.
This friend gives you a new perspective on life and can force you to try doing something you otherwise wouldn't have! This is the friend who will encourage you to go out of your comfort zone and try new things.
6. The friend who makes plans.
Not everyone is good at planning activities to do with friends so it's absolutely necessary to have a friend who will say, "This is what we're doing, let's go!"
7. The friend who "studies" with you.
Whether or not you actually study together, it's nice to have a friend you can talk to about your classes. Maybe you look over each other's papers or study together for the big test. Whatever the case, it makes you feel more confident in that class.
8. The friend who will always include you.
Gretchen Weiner is not a great friend...You never want to be told, "You can't sit with us!" It's definitely important to have a friend who will always invite you and make you feel included.
9. The long distance friend who keeps in touch.
This friend is important because you can talk to them about any drama in your life and basically say whatever you want. And because you're not always together, you always have plenty to talk about.
10. The friend you can cry to.
Sometimes, you're just sad. And it's nice to have someone to go to when all you need is a hug.
Basically, each friend is important and plays a role in shaping who you are. Cherish and appreciate all of them!
