I Can Never Thank You Enough, Mommy

Hey, mom!

I just want to say thank you. You do so much for me and I never take enough time to thank you for all that you do. You truly are the best mom and I could never imagine my life without you.

You are the best because you are always willing to make me food especially when dad is making something gross. I'll complain relentlessly about how hungry I am and no matter what you are doing, you will stop to make my favorite foods. So thank you for always making sure I am never hungry.

When I am not complaining about food, I am probably grumbling about school and homework. Not only do you put up with my constant complaining, but you are always willing to help. You know how stressful college is and I want to thank you for always being there to help me with my schoolwork when I get overwhelmed.

Since I get overwhelmed a lot, I usually get anxiety attacks over it all. Thank you so much for holding onto me when I am balling my eyes out. You are always there to believe in me when I do not believe in myself. Thank you for always supporting me and never giving up on me even when I am ready to throw in the towel.

You always love me, even when I am crazy busy with school and hating myself for constantly procrastinating or not getting a good enough grade. In fact, you love me even when you hate me too. You may say you never hate me but I know you do sometimes. I know that I can be annoying and get on your nerves. From talking in weird voices to always sitting on you. Thank you for loving me unconditionally no matter how annoying I can get.

Thank you for encouraging my shopping addiction. Of course, you always have to fix the clothes because I am so short (thanks to the genes you passed on to me). No matter how much late notice I give you to fix my clothes, you always do it for me. Just think how many fashion disasters I would have if you were not my mom. Thank you, mommy, for always styling me and making me look fabulous.

Not only do you encourage my fashion addiction but you encourage my YOGO addiction. Thank you for always being down to go to YOGO and loading up the yogurt with lots of Reese’s and lots of whipped cream!

You truly are the best mom ever, mom. You do so much for me and I want to say thank you, thank you, thank you! You are always sacrificing everything for me and you are absolutely amazing. I love you more and more each and every day and could never imagine my life if you were not my mom.

Thank you for being the best friend that I could ever ask for! I love you so much more than just the words in this letter, even more than all the words in the world!

I LOVE YOU, MOMMY!

XOXO,

Your Favorite and Loving Daughter

P.S. Oh, yeah…thanks for making me so awesome.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
