In less than two weeks, the best holiday the world has ever seen will grace us with its presence once again. Thanksgiving. A day dedicated to being a thankful American! You don't have to deal with all the other hooplah that other holidays bring. This is an opportunity to be joyful and to look around at all God has given you and to be thankful for it. Even if you don't have everything that you want, you still have something, and more than likely that "something" that you have is more than most people posses. Here is why Thanksgiving is the best holiday:

1. Who in America doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving?

It doesn't matter where you are from, what color your skin is, or even what religion you identify with: Thanksgiving is for you! Thanksgiving itself symbolizes the "coming together" of Pilgrims and Native Americans. It symbolizies people from all walks of life sitting around the table as equals and celebrating this unity.

2. Even the Europeans are jealous of it.

Thanksgiving is something that belongs to America. No, not the government of America, like the 4th of July, but it belongs to all of the people in America. Eat your heart out, Europe, with all your sad European food.

3. No silly mandatory costumes.

No, you don't have to spend extra money looking around for some ridiculous costume that you'll probably only wear once and then shove in the back of your closet. On Thanksgiving your biggest concern about your outfit is if your pants will still zip when you get up from the table.

4. No one expects a gift from you.

Not trying to hate on Christmas too much, because at its root it's something that I love dearly but, the expectation of gift-giving and receiving can skew and warp a perfectly beautiful holiday. Ever heard of a Thanksgiving gift? Yeah, neither have I. That's because Thanksgiving is about being thankful for what you already have, not wanting more.

5. You get to eat your favorite foods (sometimes multiple times in one day).

The more Thanksgiving meals in one day the better! How often do you get to eat a Turkey that someone spent hours on, or eat endless amounts of cranberry sauce? More than likely not very often. Just another reason why Thanksgiving is sacred and the superior holiday.

6. It's a day dedicated to being thankful.

Take away the food, the football, and the family traditions, and you are left with a day that revolves around thankfulness. Thankfulness. A lengthy word that means something so simple. It means to look up from your phone, the computer, the T.V. and realize how blessed you are with all the beautiful people that have chosen you to be theirs.

7. Parades are fun.

Despite the balloons probably being 20 years old, the cheesy floats and the slightly irrelevant singers they can choose to sing on top of the floats...the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade will undoubtedly remain a tradition.

8. THE FOOD AGAIN.

Thanksgiving is the one day of the year that you can practically swim in a puddle of gravy, bask in the perfection of the turkey, and sleep on that nice warm pumpkin pie. Don't forget that life jacket for when you swim down the stream of gravy.

Thanksgiving is often an unappreciated holiday. With Christmas decorations already seeping through the cracks at stores everywhere in the middle of October, it can be hard to remember that it is Thanksgiving time. Just try to keep in mind that even though we might rush to Christmas, Thanksgiving is filled with meaning, family, friends, traditions, and unity for all.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
