I am beyond thankful for my mom, but I do not always tell her how thankful I am. She does so much for me, from the small text she sends to her taking me shopping (which we both hate). Since I moved three hours away, I started to realize the many small things that my mom does that I'm for which thankful. These are five of the reasons (though they are a limitless amount of reasons) why I am thankful for my mom.
1. She is always there for me.
Living three hours away from your mom sometimes has its downsides. I can't recall I the many of times I had to facetime my mom to look at what I am cooking or a bruise on my body. I even had to call her because I wasn't sure if I cooked an egg right. She did not even care. She may have laughed at me, but she was more than willing to help.
2. She is always proud of me.
I can paint the ugliest painting and my mom would still be proud of how it looks. She supports my writing, my art, and what I want to do in life. I may feel like I am doing a horrible job, but she is proud of me for every step I am taking in life. She cares so much about what my sisters and I accomplish. She is our number one fan.
3. She is always willing to sacrifice for me.
There has been countless times when I needed something and she was the first one to give it to me. For example, if I ever need money she is the first person I asked. It could be two dollars or it could be me asking her to pay for my cat's surgery. She is always willing to sacrifice for me financially. This doesn't just mean financially, though. If one of my sisters or I want the last piece of pizza, my mom will give it to us instead of herself. She doesn't care how little or how small the request.
4. She is my best friend.
My mom and I's relationship is honestly the best. We have one of those made for movies type of relationship. We joke around and clown around way too much. Snapchat filters and the Crazy Helium app has become our favorite past time. Singing Adele and Madonna in a car wouldn't be the same if my mom wasn't doing it with me. She makes me laugh until I cry. Even though she says she doesn't have a best friend, I am obviously hers.
5. She loves me, even when she is upset with me.
Nobody is perfect. My mom and I's relationship is far from perfect. My mom and I fight. It is normal. Everyone does it. I know that no matter what I say or what I do that my mom will love me. My mom gets upset with my sisters and I a lot, but never did I once doubt how much she loves me.
So, here's to you mom. I love you! Thank you!
