With Thanksgiving this week it has made me think about the things that I'm thankful for in my life. Thanksgiving is a holiday that means a lot more than just turkey and pumpkin pie covered in whipped cream.
1. I'm thankful for my family.
This is a pretty common one that people say when they're asked to say what they're thankful for, but this one is a big one for me. Family is all you have in this life. Family isn't DNA it is love. My family has always been there when I need them and I am very thankful for my step-mom for taking me in and loving me as her own daughter.
2. I'm thankful for my sorority.
Kappa Kappa Gamma has been there for me through everything so far. The sisters that KKG has brought me are people who I'll never be able to replace. I'm so thankful that God placed me into the perfect home with the perfect family and support system.
3. I'm thankful for my Big.
My big is one of the biggest blessings that KKG has brought into my life and I'm thankful for her presence in my life and her bright and lively spirit. She reminds me that sometimes you have to let go and have fun and sometimes you have to get a little more serious. Thank you for always being a shoulder to cry on and a partner to sing or dance my heart out with.
4. I'm thankful for my college.
I'm so thankful that I chose Monmouth College. It gives me everything that I need and more. It gives me the ability to go home in 15 minutes to see my family I'm so close to. It gave me KKG and my big. It gave me professors who genuinely care about me and my future and who believe in me.
There are so many things in this life that we should be thankful for. These are only four of mine. Happy Thanksgiving week and go be with those you love and remind yourself even more often this week about who and what you're thankful for this year.
