When I first got to college I was worried about not liking my roommate. We talked on Facebook a bit but we didn't really seem to have that much in common. The first day we saw each other we were both kind of awkward when we were together but soon we got closer and inseparable.
She became like a sister to me, we ate together, binge-watched Netflix, helped each other study, and went on adventures into town. We did tabling together where we tried to get people to sign up for a volunteering event while wearing onesies and waving pompoms. We decorated our dorm room for Halloween and Christmas. We came up with so many inside jokes and gave each other nicknames with secret meanings. She even let me come home with her one weekend and go to her old high school's homecoming event. We wore leather coats and went to a vape shop where I bought my first vape. We watched multiple Impractical Jokers Marathons. We created so many good memories together.
Unfortunately, I have decided to leave college. Although she will no longer be my roommate she will always be my best friend. She and I were not able to do many of our plans such as build a snow corgi, get henna tattoos, go to a concert, and some other things, while I was at college. But I believe we will be able to do them in the future. We already have plans to visit each other soon and I can't wait to see what adventures we go on next. She was my first roommate and will always be my best friend.
I will be very sad to leave her but I know college is the right path for her and not for me. I can't wait to see what happens in the future. I know she and I are headed in very different directions and probably will live far apart but we will always remain close friends. I will miss her so much but I know we will see each other soon.
