The Most Important Thank Yous

Thanksgiving break is around the corner. As relieved as we are to finally see the end of class and responsibilities for a month it’s easy for us to all forget the big picture. It’s good for the heart to take sometime and sit back. To thank the people who allow you to function daily.

Thank you Mom and Dad:

You have been my rocks since I was born. Thank you for allowing me to follow my dreams. Picking me up when I was down and encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone. Thanks for picking up my phone calls on my bad days and reminding me every day that you are proud of me, and that I am capable of doing great things.

Thank you to my sibling:

I know that I haven’t been around as much as I would like to be. You grew up before my eyes and I just want to let you know how extremely proud I am of who you are today. Thank you for listening to me rant, lunch dates, reminding me that boys are stupid and supporting me in everything that I do. You are going to do great things in life and I want you to know that I'm always here for you. I love you!

Thank you to my best friends:

You are the people that get me through the day. The people who will go out with me when I just need a break. The ones who will get ice cream with me at midnight. Who are there for me when I need you the most. I can’t thank you enough for being my people. I know that we'll be friends for a long time. Thank you for spending the best years of my life with me, I know there are many more to come.

Thank you to my sorority sisters:

Thanks for allowing me to realize that girls grow up from high school. Thanks for letting me grow as a person and sticking by my side. You have allowed me to become a part of something much bigger then myself. Thank you for the late night talks, and rant sessions. Thanks for letting my raid your closets and wear your clothes. You are all the best. I wouldn’t have wanted to go through college with anyone else.

Thank you to my university :

I have now seen what it is like to have a family of over 26,000. Through tragedy and success we all come together. I have become a better person because of all the things you have given me. I'm so thankful for the opportunities I've been given.
