College has been great. I have met so many amazing people and have experienced some great adventures. I have joined clubs and have invested myself into a community where I know that I belong. There are days when it is difficult. There are days where classes just seem much to complicated, where the homework and studying seems way too much to handle. But somehow, we all find a way to have fun despite all of the hard work. Somehow, we find people that keep us sane and make us feel loved through all of the struggles and hardships. College is shaping me into the determined and focused individual I've always hoped to be, but I wouldn't have gotten to where I am today without the help of a special hometown friend.
My best friend from home is a senior in high school. She may have not experienced the college lifestyle yet, but she knows and understands me better than anyone else. We talk everyday that I am away and count down the days until I am home or she can come up and visit. When I have a bad day, she's there through facetime, snapchat, phone call, and text, where we have 4 different conversations going at once. She's there when I need someone to vent to; she's there when I need to get my feelings out so that I don't get too angry at one of my friends that decided not to invite me to dinner back out. She may not be there in person, but I can always count on her to know exactly what to say when I feel overwhelmed or upset.
My best friend from home loves adventures. During the summer we spent everyday together, whether it was going on beach trips, hanging out by her pool, or coloring pictures while watching disney movies. Some days weren't eventful, but even if we just needed someone to be there next to us, she was always the one I turned to.
My best friend from home has the biggest heart and loudest personality. She annoys me in the best kind of way, and even when she's lazy, I still somehow manage to drag her out of her house long enough to take both of our minds off of the future and our responsibilities. I don't know what job I'll have or where I'll be after I graduate, but I do know that I'll always have her as a best friend, because only best friends support and love you endlessly. Thanks for loving my flaws and mistakes and for making me a better person. You rock.
xoxo, your best friend
