Moving at a young age, leaving your friends, and leaving the only place you've ever known, seems like one of the scariest things imaginable. Little do we know it can actually be one of the greatest things to ever happen to us. It allows us to create new friends, find new hobbies, develop new passions, and find a new place to call home. It allows us to create a new beginning. So here's to Grand Haven; the place I call home.
Thank you for the friendships.
If it wasn't for you, I never would have met the people I call my best friends. Thank you for the giggles till you cry, the shoulder to lean on when your heart gets broken, the late night food runs and countless sleepovers which nobody actually sleeps at. Thank you for my family away from family.
Thank you for the opportunities.
I truly believe if it wasn't for where I lived, I would never be where I am today. Without the clubs, volunteering, and community encouragement, I would be lost in life. Thank you for the endless opportunities to find passions, for the support of those cheering you along as you go. For the chance to pursue what I'm really good at, and find the career I'm meant to have.
Thank you for bringing my family closer than we have ever been before.
Between the countless activities around town, the beaches, walks on the pier, local places to shop and eat, there's no better family bonding time. Thank you for helping my family develop a strong connection and love that is stronger than its ever been.
Thank you for the traditions.
When living in a small beach town, you develop traditions that will live on for the rest of your life. Thank you for the drives through downtown stretching all the way past the beach. It may be the same scenery every time, but it never gets old. Thank you for the beaches. The lay out with friends and soak up some rays type of days. Thank you for the Coast Guard Festival that we all love and dread at the same time. It's a great way to celebrate our coast guard and have some fun, but by the time the week is over, we're ready for the tourists to leave so the town becomes quiet again.
Thank you for being the best place a person could call home.
Thank you for it all. The laughs, the cries, the ups, the downs. Thank you for the friendships, opportunities, family, and traditions that make Grand Haven such an amazing place to call home.
