To the Friends who became family....
“I never saw this coming, but I couldn’t be happier that it did.”
When going off to college several emotions run through you such as, “What if no one likes me?” “What if I don’t fit in?” “I don’t have my best friend here; what am I going to do?” Thoughts like those flood you as you take on that first day. But the good thing about college is you’re not the only one thinking that, and you’re not the only one going to a new place with new people and luckily for you, there are hundreds and sometimes thousands of people feeling the exact same way. But newsflash, in about two days if not less you will already be creating bonds with people that are probably going to be around for the rest of your life. People that will see you at your absolute worst and will be there to celebrate your absolute best.
To my friends that I met at college, saying thank you just doesn’t seem like enough, but it’s a start. So thank you times a million…
For creating a bond with me, one that almost seems too good to be true.
For embracing my love to take pictures and being a part of 90 percent of them: You always find a way to be in the shot, which is completely acceptable because it only makes sense that you are in it.
For sharing your food with me when I ran out of ramen: Your food always seems better anyways, and you know my mom always replenishes my stash eventually so you will be able to steal mine right back.
For making me feel welcomed in your room as if it was my own, because let’s be honest that’s where I spent most of my year anyway.
For helping me with online tests even when you know nothing about the subject. Group work is always the best; nothing better than having someone to take away some stress
For sharing your stories with me, because you know I will always be there for you because you have been there for me.
For going to get food with me at the weirdest times and making no judgments. An even bigger thank you for eating the food with me at the weirdest times.
For keeping me on my toes at all times, with all your crazy adventures and drive to do new things.
For staying up all night in the library with me when you could be sleeping. Between the coffee, and the endless number of snacks that we may indulge in, somehow those nights turn out to be some of my favorite time spent together.
For letting me learn from my own mistakes and being there not to say “I told you so” but to say “I’m here for you.” Your support means the world to me and knowing that I’ll always have you there is enough to be grateful for alone.
For keeping in contact over the two dreaded months of summer that we are apart. Yes, I love summer and not having school, but a whole two months away from you just seems way too long.
The friends you meet in college become family faster than you can ever imagine. They see you when you wake up, when you go to bed, with and without makeup on, and every time in between. There is a bond created with these friends that no one can ever understand, but to my friends whom I miss dearly because it's currently during the summer months when I have to go without ya’ll… thank you for being you.
