College is scary. Being a freshman is scary. Your parents drop you off, set up your room, and if you're lucky they take you out to dinner before they leave. Then, that's it. You're officially on your own. But then you meet people that you instantly click with and you realize that you're not alone in this. You have met your family away from home. Your friends make the adjustment easier, they make you laugh, and they support you just like you support them. I have met people who will be my friends forever, and that's pretty great. Here is my thank you, to you, my best friends.
Thank you for being there for me.
For all those times that I would sit in my bed stressed or upset or angry, you have been there to just sit, listen, and make everything better again. You have been there for the tears and the laughs and that means the world to me. You have gotten me through good times and bad times and I know whenever I need someone, you'll be there.
Thank you for dragging me out even when I insisted on staying in.
There have been several nights that I wanted to sulk in my bed and feel sorry for myself, but you didn't let that happen. You dragged me out of bed, helped me get ready, and got me out, and those have been some of the best nights of college so far, so, thank you.
Thank you for letting me borrow all your clothes.
Going home for winter break made me realize that I need to go shopping. Whenever I need something to wear, I can always count on your closet to get me through it.
Thank you for making me do my homework instead of taking a nap.
I owe some of my best grades to you because there have been several times that I wanted to lay in bed and watch Netflix, but you made me get out of bed and get my work done. My GPA thanks you for this.
Thank you for always being honest with me.
Thank you for telling me, "too much cleavage," or "you need to do less," because without your honest comments I would probably be a walking mess. I may hate you for a split second, but eventually, I will thank you for all the fashion advice.
Thank you for watching Netflix with me.
There is no way that I could have watched "American Horror Story" alone in a dark room without my best friend right next to me and a huge bowl of popcorn.
Lastly, Thank you for being you.
Without you, my freshman year of college would be a disaster. You have gotten me through everything and I cannot thank you enough. I can't wait until we're older (well, I can wait a little longer) because I know that we will still be the best of friends because here at college, we are not just friends, we're a family. I love you guys.
