A Thank You To My College Best Friends

Sometimes we don't say it enough.

A Thank You To My College Best Friends

College is where they say you meet your lifelong friends, bridesmaids and sisters by choice. Coming into college, you wonder who they will be. Are they in your first class, your random roommates or in your pledge class? Once you find them you wonder how you went 18 years without them and how you got so lucky. Out of everyone in this world, we get to share this special bond.

So, thank you for giving me a chance.

You didn't have to, but you did. You didn't have to speak to me or ask me to sit beside you, but look where we are now.

Thank you for trusting me.

Being able to trust someone means a lot, and when someone is able to trust you it means even more.

Thank you for always being real and honest with me when I need it most.

You put me in my place when I need to be. You give me your opinion and make sure I'm using my head. Whether it is a dress that makes me look like a potato sack or someone I shouldn't trust.

Thank you for supporting me in whatever decisions I make.

Even if you do not like them, you still tell me to go for it.

Thank you for always backing me up.

You're always ready to go at whoever is messing with your girl.

Thank you for holding my hand when I'm scared and holding my hair on "those" nights.

I think this speaks for itself. You are there when I need you.

Thank you for being my true "Netflix and chill."

We can discuss movies and TV series and be each others spoiler alerts. You recommend me the best shows and what you know I will like.

Thank you for being my study buddy.

You save me a spot in a study room and tell me to shut up and focus when I need to get work done. How would I get a college degree without you?

Thank you for always being down for late night snacks, last minute nights out, or staying in and watching "Friends" with me.

You never know what is next with us and the possibilities are endless. Thank you for accepting me when I am crazy.

Whether I am delusional from studying all night or ranting about a boy. I may be screaming Adele at the top of my lungs on the coffee table or going on and on about that jerk I just passed. You still listen to my singing and my ranting. You put up with me and love me through my craziness.

Thank you for always taking a picture with me and letting me have "my side".

You're always down to take more and more until we get one just right! These include Snapchats. You are the ones on my story most and fill my Instagram.

Thank you for the random "what's up" calls and usual "I love you" texts.

It's the little things that mean the most. Whether something is wrong or not, having you always check on me makes me feel special. You motivate me when I need it most. Our appreciation for one another doesn't have to be shown in any way more than this.

Thank you for the pinky promises I know we'll keep.

No matter how crazy they may be, I know you won't break them.

Thank you for the best college memories.

Without you, I wouldn't have so many. These memories were made because of you. College is supposed to be the best time of your life and I believe it because I found you.

Thank you for being someone I can go to, someone I can laugh with and someone I can cry with.

Whether I am stressed to the max, failed my test or just face planted in the middle of campus. You will either make me feel better or laugh harder than I already was. You let me know everything is going to turn out okay.

Thank you for growing with me.

College is a time of change where we grow as people. You did that right beside me. You helped me every step of the way. You are a part of the person I have become today.

Thank you for being my rocks, my soulmates and my best friends.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
