We may not have it all together, but together we have it all.
Dear College Family,
People always told me “you will meet your best friends in college.” Now, you know I didn’t believe that at first because I am not one to believe in cliches, but you all proved that you really do meet your best friends in college.
I probably haven’t told you this, but I was a bit scared when I came to college. Wait, no, I was terrified. I think we can all agree that we have had the fear of not making any friends. People always told me that I would make friends really quickly because of my bubbly personality. But I remember for the first month of college, I called my friends back home and cried on the phone for what seemed like hours because I didn’t think anyone wanted to be friends with me. But then you all, all five of you, came along and turned my nights of crying into nights of fun, laughter, and inside jokes.
It’s funny because my friends from back home always ask me, how did you meet your friends? And to be quite honest, I am not really sure how I was lucky enough to meet all of you. Four months ago, we were strangers passing by each other's room with the occasional wave. But now I can’t seem to get you out of my room (just kidding, you know I love y’all).
I don’t think I ever tell you this, mainly because we are too busy Netflixing "The West Wing" or laughing at each other, but there are a million things that I want to thank you for. Thank you for listening to my rants, or being there when I am lonely, or when I need a distraction from my papers, but most of all, thank you for being my college family and for showing me that home isn’t where you are but with who you are with. Without you, I wouldn’t be able to see that there is more to life than just studying. Thank you for turning nights into days and for helping me make memories that I have my first semester of college and most importantly making me a part of the “SQ(AU)D”
Sincerely,
A member of the Room 605 family
