A Thank You To Chip And Joanna Gaines For Being Authentic Role Models

Chip and Joanna Gaines are the stars of HGTV’s show, Fixer Upper. Chip and Jo are like breaths of fresh air in the realm of relationships, but not only are they actual goals for relationships they are goals on being a decent human being. As 2017 has brought many disheartening events, Chip and Jo have remained my sliver of hope. They have continued to be the light in reality TV and give their fans authentic relationship goals and quality role models to admire.

Their love is undeniably real.

In today’s society, it’s hard to find anyone who’s as passionate about their work as they are their spouses. That’s exactly what separates Chip and Jo from the average TV stars. Their love for each other is apparent in all things they do. I find myself constantly smiling at their goofiness and their quirky approach to showing affection on screen. There is absolutely no denying how much they love each other.

They’re humble.

With Fixer Upper becoming one of the most successful and popular shows on HGTV, it’s no surprise that Chip and Jo have acquired quite the fan base (ME) over the last couple of years. Not to mention their net worth has more than tripled since the start of the show, but their newly found fame and finical boost has only made them grateful for their blessings rather than greedy.

They’re each other’s biggest fans.

Chip and Jo are truly each other's biggest supporters. They build off of each other's accomplishments and feed off each other’s energy. I have never heard anyone speak so highly of someone else’s work like Chip does for Jo. He raves on and on about her design skills and how perfect she is (I agree, Chip! Who doesn’t love Jo?).

They’re genuine.

Putting aside how awesome their show is and how their creations are absolutely breathtaking and not to mention they’re just simply entertaining to watch, but Chip and Jo are so much more than their show. There are real people who have lived wholesome lives; they’re genuine. While watching Fixer Upper, I often catch myself laughing and appearing as if I’m right there with them (yes that counter top is amazing, Jo) because they don’t have the fake and completely put together front that so many reality stars put on for their viewers. As a huge fan of Chip and Jo, I feel like I truly know them because they are genuine people who I can relate to.

Family is a priority.

Right next to their apparent love for one another, Chip and Jo are open about their family and how they value family dynamics. Chip and Jo have noticeably busy lives: running a full-time business, producing a TV show, and raising four kids. However, Chip and Jo have made it very clear that the kids are their main priority. The four children make appearances on every episode of the show and Chip once stated: “Family is the most important thing in our entire universe."

They stand up for what they believe in.

Chip and Jo have been in the spotlight about their faith. While not everyone is keen on their beliefs, there is one thing everyone can agree on: Chip and Joanna Gaines stand up for what they believe in. Regardless of your standpoint on political and social issues, there’s something to be said about those who are in the public’s eye and refuse to conform to society’s standards. Chip and Jo have built their business and TV show thriving on the public’s opinion of them. Unlike the average person, Chip and Jo are public figures with something to lose; without their fans to watch their show, visit their properties, and buy their products they could lose it all and yet they are still willing to stand up for what they believe is right.

So thank you to Chip and Joanna Gaines for being authentic role models.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
