College is practically one long summer vacation except for the classes, studying and midterms thing. Every once in a while, we college students get sick of the classes, studying and midterms thing and want a break. Lucky for us, so do our professors. When this happens, we get Thanksgiving, Winter and Spring Break. Over Thanksgiving, we get to see our family and stuff our faces with mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie, over Winter Break, we get to see our family, celebrate Christmas and hang out with our friends for New Year’s Eve. I think we can all agree, though, that Spring Break is a “break” unlike any other. It’s the crunch wrap supreme, the Lauren Conrad, the king of all breaks. Wait did I just call Spring Break a crunch wrap supreme? I think I eat too much Taco Bell.
Anyways, I just want to take a minute to thank Spring Break, because well, I appreciate you. You come at a perfect time, in the midst of the chaos of exams, projects, essays and more homework than I can wrap my mind around. Thank you for giving me something to look forward to during the weeks of “hell” we formally call midterms. I mean I’m sorry but didn’t my professor just give us a midterm a few weeks ago? And, this week we have another one? How can there be two midterms if there is only one middle part of the term? I’m confused. But, after this long week of confusion, schooling and midterms, at least, we will all get a precious week of freedom.
Whether you are spending your week in Cabo, Rocky Point, Mission Beach or anywhere else, why would you go somewhere else, though? We all know this week is going to be unforgettable. Spring Break is a time of craziness, fun and stupidity. No matter where you decide to go, or what you decide to do, you’ll make memories to last a lifetime with your friends. Make sure to try something new, meet new people and be reckless. Because why not? Spring Break is like a holiday. It comes once a year, we all look forward to it, and we talk about it for months before and after. So much so, we annoy those people who were not lucky enough to come with us. Hey, guys, it’s okay. Next year?
As you enter your week leading up to Spring Break, make sure you get all your school stuff done because school comes first. See mom? Be proud! Who wants to be thinking about school when you’re laying out on a beach and swimming in the ocean? As much as it sucks to have three essays, midterms and two projects due this week, at least, it will keep us busy. Because in just a few short days and before we even know it, it’ll be Spring Break and there’s nothing better than that. So, thank you again Spring Break, for what might possibly be the best week ever
