A Thank You Letter To My Sisters
Zimbio

I was lucky, I got two amazing sisters that have taught me almost everything I know. From my stories I get to share with my friends, to the memories that will last forever. My sisters are the most incredible people that are complete opposites. Most people beg for a sibling that gets them, or siblings at all, that can help them through good times or bad; but your girl got lucky.

My oldest sister, Autumn, is seventeen years older. She got married when I was two and had her first kid by the time I was four, giving me a niece (who I consider an honorary little sister, love ya Mags). I have a lot to thank Autumn for, she has given me more than enough knowledge for a lifetime. So thank you Autumn! Thank you for teaching me love; you followed your heart at such a young age making me believe that love can come at any time, even in an unexpected place. Thank you for teaching me my sarcastic tone, if you know me then you know that half the time I speak it is sarcasm (never in a nasty tone). I can remember laughing until my abs hurt or until I cried because of something you said or a joke you made. Thank you for the beautiful family you gave me (two nieces and three nephews), for teaching me how to drive, for letting me crash at your house whenever I needed. You were there for me when I felt uncomfortable talking to mom or Meg and I knew that no matter what I told you I could trust you. You have never given up on me and I love you so much for that.

Meg, four years older, and I haven’t always had the perfect relationship but we got a lot closer as we got older. I have so much to thank you for, you are my best friend and I’ve looked up to you my whole life. You’ve always been the person I want to impress and still do. I thank you for the confidence you have given me, you have taught me that my worth depends on me; not the way I look, my past or the events I’m currently going through. You’ve taught me to rise above all the negative and be the strong woman our mother has instill in our brains. You’ve taught me forgiveness… I mean for heaven sakes you forgave me when I sent your crush that extremely embarrassing picture of you. You’ve taught me to not hold on to things, you’ve taught me how to be petty (when the time is right) and how to fight for what I want because I deserve it. You’ve been there through it all with me, and you’ve supported me every step of the way. You taught me how to lead, how to smile when things get bad and how to finish a job. I love you beyond words can describe and I can’t imagine who I’d be or where I’d be if I didn’t have you.

I wish everyone could be as lucky as I’ve gotten. I don’t ever have to worry about being alone again because I know that I will always have my sisters by my side.

As mom’s favorite sister quote, “I smile because you’re my sister, I laugh because there is nothing you can do about it.” Well sorry guys, but even if you could do something about it… I wouldn’t let you go.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
