Dear Mom and Dad,
I truly have no idea as to where to start this letter. There is so much that the two of you have done for me and it’s going to be very hard to express my gratitude and love towards you using words but it’s worth a shot. So here it goes.
Thank you for always being there for me. There has never been a time in my life where I was doubtful of the unconditional support you provide. Between all of my sporting events of my childhood and now being away at college there has been an unwavering amount of support. You have pushed to follow my dreams, wherever they lead me. You have challenged me to go out for my comfort zone, and in turn always be there when I turn around and come running back.
I truly have no idea what kind of person I would be today without either one of you. You have taught me to be strong and independent. You have allowed me the opportunity to make decisions on my own, and back those decisions with a conscious thought process. As well as allowing me the opportunity to learn by my own mistakes. You raised me to have freedom to choose and I cannot thank you enough for that.
I am beyond grateful for the amount of love you two have for me. You always seem to love me no matter some of the stupid decisions I make or the attitude I can have at times. I know that it’s not always easy loving me but somehow you manage to. So thank you for that.
You two have taught me what true love looks like and have taught me to never settle for anything less than I deserve. The two of you love each other and our family more than I could ever imagine loving another person. Now when I say you have taught me to never settle for less than I deserve I mean this to apply to everything in life. You never made me settle. And I thank you immensely for this.
I know that sometimes I struggle showing the two of how much I love you and how grateful I am for everything you do. But as I have grown up I have come to realize that I should never take yours or anyone’s love for granted. I am exceptionally grateful for everything you do and how you have allowed me to grow as a person. I love you both more than words can express.
There are a million other things that I could talk about and include. But as I head off to college these were the ones that truly made me think of how wonderful you two are. I know that I am well prepared to be on my own as well as I know you will be okay with these changes again. You have raised me to be the best I can be. Thank you for everything Mom and Dad.
