When I first stumbled upon this page, I was in quarantine and was bored out of my mind. It had been days of sitting around and binging several Netflix shows. I felt unmotivated and was truly disgusted by how little I had done during that first week.
I had been scrolling through my Instagram as a message from months prior had appeared. It was from and account called the "FGCU Odyssey". My curiosity took over as I read the message asking if I would be interested in writing with the team.
I figured I had nothing better to do, so I would see if the offer was still available. When our team's President answered back and gave me a phone call, I still didn't understand what I was getting myself into.
It was only when my first article got published that I felt that creative rush flow through me. My first article had over 2,000 views. 2,000 people had read my thoughts.
It was earth-shattering.
For months, I let my thoughts escape into you. Like Odysseus, I was on a journey. The journey of finding my voice.
In each article, there lies a piece of me that the world can see. It is only when I write my voice becomes loud that even those on the other side of the world can hear.
In the matter of a few months, I have found a safe place. In this place, I found peace and confidence. I have found a piece of me that has nearly completed the puzzle of my mind.
Although, it is time to say goodbye to you, Dear Odyssey. I cannot wait for my next adventure with my fellow writers. For our journey with you was simply our Iliad. Now, you become a Muse for our next journey of our own Odyssey.
