A Thank You Letter To My Sorority

A Thank You Letter To My Sorority
Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority

To the ladies of my organization,

Thank you for getting me through this last year.

I never realized how close I am to each and every one of you until I check my calendar and come to the realization that summer break is fast approaching and oddly enough I'm dreading it. To not see your shining faces at our weekly meetings seems so unnatural as I have become so accustomed to the routine of our sisterhood. I'm already starting to worry now when I have a problem and realize that we soon wont be within walking distance of each other during break. You all kept me sane this past year and that is not an easy task.

Now that the year is wrapping up I'd like to thank you for the memories. Thank you for the volunteering with me, thank you for attending school events with me, thank you for rocking matching letters on campus, thank you for staying up at the library with me, and most of all thank you for convincing me to have fun. You all have made this year one I wont forget filled with more laughs and good tears than I've ever experienced.

I'd like to thank you for investing in me as a sister. I look up to so many of you and to have you call me a sister is a true honor. To be in such a powerful group of women can be a great challenge and to have your faith in me as a sister is so motivating.

Thank you to all my sisters who have opened up to me. Thank you for sharing your deep secrets and listening to mine, and most of all thank you for creating such an open space within our group. You are all my constant inspiration to keep going through life's hardship and you all make me feel empowered by just being in your company. You sisters are truly super women and I have faith that we will each achieve everything we dream of and I am so glad we get to do it together.

Love always,

Your Sister

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
