When people think of a family member as their best friend, most of the time they are referring to a close cousin. But that's not the case for me. When I say that my brother is my best friend, I mean it. From day one, I always remember wanting to spend time with him, even if that meant being the annoying little sister always hanging around him and his friends. To this day, I still find myself always wanting to spend time with him.
One might ask why he's my favorite person when most of the time, siblings don't usually get along. The answer is simple for me. My brother inspires me, and he always has. With everything he does, he puts his best foot forward. From pursuing his own business to opening his own gym, all the way to creating a fundraiser event to fight pancreatic cancer, he always follows his dreams. Even when everything and everyone around him is telling him no, he still persists on. He radiates nothing but positive energy and makes me a better person as he does so.
It's because of him that I am inspired to do the same. Without him, I would not have a shoulder to lean on, someone to go to for advice, a role model, and someone to call my best friend. So thank you, for inspiring me to follow my dreams and staying right their by my side as I do so.
