Dear My Closest And Dearest Friends,
In September, we were all just scared little freshmen; ready to start the next chapter in our lives. Our lives were very different than they are now. We have new boyfriends / girlfriends, new hobbies and even new majors. But throughout all the changes and challenges, we have continued to build our friendships and have supported each other every step of the way. Here are some of the many reasons I have to thank you guys for.
Supporting my academics.
We always do homework together and that made the work not seem like work at all. Your help with math homework is the reason why I did so well in that class. If any of us needed someone to read over an English paper, then we were right down the hall and willing to help in any way. We all understand that we are here to have a good time, but the main reason is the education.
Supporting all hobbies.
No matter what the hobby was, the “family” would be there supporting. Nothing is better than having all your friends supporting you in the activity you love. Even though we aren’t all interested in the same hobbies, we are all very willing to learn more about them. So thank you for being those friends that everyone is jealous of because you are there being supportive.
Endless laughter.
Throughout the year, the nights have gotten later and later because of our adventures and deep talks. Whenever I’m with you guys, I can’t help but be happy and laugh over everything. The best part of this year was that my best friends were also my neighbors. I live with all of my best friends, essentially. What can be better than that? You guys are the reason why I live a good, happy life here. Thank you.
Being true to yourself.
Through high school, all the things that mattered were the material things. This included the clothes you wore, where you lived, who you hung out with, etc. But honestly, none of that matters to us. We care about who you are as a person and not what you have. We don’t change ourselves or try to change each other to fit in better; we are just simply ourselves. You guys are some of the truest friends I have ever met. So thank you for showing me that life is more than objects.
Whether we like it or not, our freshman year is coming to an end. We will never live this close to each other or even go to the same school anymore, but that’s OK because I know you guys will always be there. We are all just one text or Snapchat away to say an inside joke or send a picture of something that reminds us of one of us. All I’m trying to say is that it won’t be as easy as it is now to get everyone together for a late night adventure. But I want to keep as close of a relationship with everyone as possible because you guys are simply the best. I want to thank you for letting me be a part of the “squad” and for making my freshman year of college unforgettable.
Love,
Me
