Dear Mom and Dad,
I know I don't say this a lot, but thank you. Thank you for loving me unconditionally and providing me with the wisdom I need to carry out this next chapter of my life. In a short period of time, I am going to be graduating from college and diving into the scary world of being a "real" adult.
Thank you for the all the sleepless nights you stayed up with me when I had nightmares, or when I was sick, and when I just couldn't sleep. Thank you for letting me sleep in your bedroom when I got scared and waking me up in the middle of the night to give me my medicine when I was sick. Thank you for saying my prayers with me before I went to bed and for making sure I woke up on time in the morning.
Thank you for making me dinner when you got home from work, even though I know you were more than exhausted. Thank you for driving me to dance class, sports, music recitals, and my friends' houses, though I know you were too exhausted to go anywhere for the night.
Thank you for teaching me to believe in something. Through your life, your example, and your love, I thank you for teaching me how to love God and put my faith in him. You have taught me to love others, speak kindly and respect my elders.
Thank you for not "handing" me everything in life. I know you love me, I know you care for me, but thank you for not spoiling me. Thank you for teaching me how hard work pays off and that if I want something, I have to go after it.
Thank you for giving me chores and teaching me the value of working as a team. I have learned that being a part of a family, everyone has their role.
I also thank you for my siblings. Although they can be a pain, they are the best friends I could ever ask for and I am grateful of our unity as a family.
Thank you for never giving up on me. I never want to make a mistake, because I never want to let you down. Your approval means everything to me and my biggest motivation in life is making you proud.
Thank you for shaping me into the adult I am today.
I love you to the moon and back.
