20 Reasons I'm Thankful For My Loving Dad
Courtney Nicole Miller

It is Father's Day weekend, so I want to dedicate this article to thanking my Dad for everything he has done for me. I love you, Dad.

1. Thank you for bringing me up in a Godly manner, and by setting an example through your words and actions.

2. Thank you for your dedication to our family, for showing me that if I find a husband who is half the man you are, I will be in good hands.

3. Thank you for always giving me what I need, no matter the cost.

4. Thank you for supporting me through every dream, whether it was to play soccer, be a gymnast, to be an actress, or to be a ballerina. You never doubted my abilities and were always there cheering me on.

5. Thank you for allowing me to help you build sets for plays when I was only 8 years old, for showing me what tools to use, and what tools not to use.

6. Thank you for letting your yes be a yes and your no be a no, I know I can always count on you to be true to your words.

7. Thank you for teaching me life skills.

From how to ride a bike to how to fix minor technology problems to how to make fried rice to how to check the oil in the car, I am a more confident person when dealing with problems because I know you are always there for me.

8. Thank you for experimenting with different recipes of your own, because even if they are not always a big hit, you always make sure we have plenty to eat.

9. Thank you for playing Mario Takes A Walk by Jesse Cook whenever you are cooking.

10. Thank you for hiding my favorite Easter chocolate from the rest of the family so that I could have it when I came home from college for the summer.

11. Thank you for introducing me to my love of dogs, and for showing me various videos of dogs and monkeys.

12. Thank you for being the one I can call at any time, whether it is for help with a problem or just to say hello.

13. Thank you for telling me that "all boys are pond scum" when I was 16, but still being there for me when I had my first boyfriend.

14. Thank you for teaching me to parallel park...even though I still avoid parallel parking if I can help it.

15. Thank you for taking me on "Daddy-Daughter Dates" when I was younger.

16. Thank you for singing Barbershop Quartet songs around the house, I will now know Nine Pound Hammer for the rest of my life.

17. Thank you for watching TV shows with me, from The Brady Bunch to Alias to Last Man Standing, I cherish our times together.

18. Thank you for dancing with me at my senior Prom, and for taking pictures with me during the Daddy-Daughter dance.

19. Thank you for your puns and dad jokes, even if they are not always funny...

20. Thank you for showing me that no matter what happens, you are always there for me and you will always love me, for challenging me in every aspect of my life, for always pushing me to be a better version of myself.

Dad, there is so much I could say to you; I could write a novel about how amazing you have been to me, but I do not have time to do that between now and Father's Day. So for now, I hope you will enjoy this tiny glimpse of how much you have impacted my life for the better. Thank you, Dad, for everything.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
