Dear Mom,
Wow, do I have a ton to thank you for; not just for being my mom, but also for being my single mom. I know that doesn’t sound like much, as you are most likely so used to all of it by now. However, I just needed to let you know how incredibly thankful I am for you and all that you do for us.
Thank you for the endless amounts of time that you put into our lives. For all the time you spent making sure we have everything that we could want. For all of the times you drove me to morning practice all by yourself; I know it couldn’t have been easy. For putting so much time into your work to make sure that we always had what we needed. Thank you for giving so much of your time to us.
Thank you for all of your unconditional love. If there’s anything I’m most thankful for, it is definitely your love. When you only live with one parent and see one parent on a daily basis, all of that love is something that is much needed. Thank you for being able to provide more than double the love of just one single parent. Thank you for always making me feel so incredibly and deeply loved, and not for just making me feel loved, but for the fact that I know I’m always loved.
Thank you for putting so much energy into everything you do, whether it be working, making dinner, or cleaning the house. You’ve always put so much of your energy into taking care of us and loving us and making sure we have absolutely everything we could ever need, and I couldn’t thank you enough for that.
Thank you for putting on your brave face when I couldn’t find mine. Even when things got tough for you, you always made it a priority to be strong for us. For always walking right beside me in everything I do and being my biggest supporter. For encouraging me to be brave in all that I do, and when I can’t seem to find the courage deep within myself, for finding it for me and being a huge part of my courage. Thank you for being strong for us through the good times, the bad times, and all of the times in-between.
I could thank you for endless things you do, but the most important thing I have left to thank you for is for doing everything you do to make us happy. Ever since you became a single mom, you have done everything in your power to make us happy and make sure that we are happy. Regardless of if you were happy or not, thank you for always putting on a smile; I can’t tell you how much that has meant to me.
As you sit next to me on the couch while I write this, above all else, I need to thank you most of all for being you. I love you with all of my heart and I couldn’t thank you enough for not only being my mom, but being my kind, loving, caring, and supportive single mom.
Xoxo,
Me.
