If one chooses to go to college, it is said to be one of the best times of a person's life. Where one meets their future spouse and bridesmaids, it is a time filled with everlasting memories. While most know that every aspect of one's life goes by fast, college goes by even faster... and that is the one thing that sucks.
This past year I was blessed to end up sharing an apartment with my Grand-big and two other girls, one of whom I did not know that well coming into the year. I was skeptical about living with three upcoming seniors seeing as how I wasn't super close to any of them going into the year and I was just entering my sophomore year. I asked myself a few questions going into the school year such as, "Will these girls be good roommates?", "Will we drive each other nuts?", and most importantly, "Will we become close friends?" These were all things that rushed through my mind on move in day when I wheeled my stuff into an apartment that I would share with these girls over the course of the next year... Here is my thank you letter to them.
Thank you for pulling me along to different events on campus, even when I didn't want to go. Thank you for always sharing the same love for Mexican food that I have. Thank you for staying up late just to watch "Pretty Little Liars" because we missed the 8:00 pm showing. Thank you for always being up for a trip to the dining hall, even though the food isn't the greatest. Thank you for being my walking buddy on walks back from the Big House. Thank you for watching "How To Get Away With Murder" every Thursday night (and if we didn't we would all clear our schedules the next day and make sure it happened). Thank you for the late night trips to Papa Johns, because 50% off was too good of a deal to pass up and we are broke college students. Thank you guys for introducing me to your friends (shout out to Train, Pike, Kim, Ben, John, etc.). Thank you for the late night talks we always had in each other's bedrooms to vent about that days frustrations because being a young adult is hard. Thank you for the many cooking disasters we had in the kitchen, which helped us figure out the only thing we are really good at cooking is spaghetti. Thank you for telling me when I was being too sassy and needed to lay off. Thank you for being the best sisters I never had, and thank you for being my sanity. Lastly, thank you for being some of the best roommates I could ask for. It isn't often that a person appreciates all of her roommates, but I can truly say that I did. Throughout the fights, screams, laughs, and cries, these past two semesters have been one for the books. My only regret is that it didn't last longer.
