Dear Mom,
Thank you first and foremost for that year I turned 13, because I know I was a horrible, moody, mean, and bratty individual who thought you could do nothing right. *Phew* Now, that I got that out of the way, let’s move on.
Thank you for always cooking my favorite foods when I come back to school and always remembering all the weird things I love and always making them happen (a miracle on 34th street on Christmas eve, the coffee cake on my birthdays, etc.). Thank you for all those times you took me to the bookstore, or any store really, when I just had to have something. Thank you for always nagging me when I was younger to push myself in school; it has finally paid off. Thank you for listening to my rambles about everything and anything, for always giving me advice about boys and my friends, for always remembering what I say even if it’s something stupid. Thank you for stalking me on Facebook, because sometimes I forget to tell you things and that's all you need.
Thank you for being just as excited as me when things happen, like when I get that A on a paper or when I got a Little. Also, thank you for being a sorority mom, for looking for quatrefoils and getting that my sisters, especially my Little, are always gush-worthy. Thank you for helping me make sure I always have what I need when I'm far away from you and my dad, and answering your phone when I have questions about being an adult like, how long do I cook this?
Thank you for assuring me that everything will work out, whether it’s been school, boy or friend related, you’ve always been the voice of reason. Thank you for dealing with everything I tell you in stride, for never freaking out too badly whenever I do something crazy, but understanding things happen. Thank you for supporting me and loving me unconditionally. Thank you for always telling me that you’re proud of me. Thank you for always showing that you love me. Thank you for being an example of how an understanding mom should act. Thank you for letting me make my own mistakes. Thank you for letting me find my own way.
Just, thank you for being you and all the wonderful things you do.
