Between cafeteria gossip sessions, Friday night football gamesand late nights making homemade pizza rolls, we have been through a lot together. The memories we have made in our high school years are endless, reckless, and unforgettable. Every waking moment that we weren’t working or doing after school activities, we were together. On the weekends, our parents never had to ask who we were hanging out with, because they already knew we would be together. We would walk into each other’s houses unannounced, sit at the kitchen table, and wait for everyone else to show up. We had all the same friends and basically didn’t talk to anyone else, because we already had the best friends we could ever want.
So, I want to start off by saying thank you.
Thank you for the laughs; there was never a dull, boring, or silent moment when we were all together. Thank you for listening to every story I have ever told; the first, fifth, and tenth time I told it. Thank you for standing by my side through every crush I ever had, even when the boy was not worth it. Thank you for telling me when I was being an idiot. Thank you for being idiots with me. Thank you for all those stories we have never told anyone else. Thank you for being there when I needed to cry, and for crying with me. Thank you for the tightest hugs every time we left each other.
Thank you for every goodbye being a “see you tomorrow.” Thank you for making mistakes with me. Thank you for growing up with me. Thank you for experiencing life with me.
I would not be who I am today without you. You showed me what love is in a way that some people never get to experience. You taught me what it is like to have five incredibly beautiful, smart and crazy sisters. You reminded me every day that even when the rest of the world walks out, you wouldn’t. You never let me forget that the boy is just a boy and that we are each other’s real soulmates. You never made me feel bad about who I am. You never let me feel lonely. I would not have made it through my teenage years without you.
Even though life has put distance between us, you will always be my best friends.
Now, we are older and in college. We are hours away from each other and can’t spend time together like we used to. Life is happening at lightning speed, and it sometimes seems like we don’t have time to breathe, let alone visit each other. However, even though this is the case, when we do see each other, it’s like nothing has ever changed. I love that about us. I hope we stay like this for the rest of our lives. This is something that is so special and unique to our friendship. We are the kind of friends that, no matter how hard we try, we will never be able to get rid of each other. I love that about us too.
I love you all forever. Never forget that.
Xoxo,
Natty Lite.
