A Thank You Letter To My Grandma Kuku

I look back on my life and wonder how I was blessed with not just an loving and uplifting Grandma, but a lifetime best friend. Throughout my life, you have given me unconditional love and have taught me many values that I will forever treasure. I could not be the person I am today if it wasn’t for you.

If you are fortunate enough to have your grandmother in your life, make sure you remember to thank them for all that they have blessed you with. I can't thank my grandma enough for all that she is and is yet to be. My grandmother is one of the most important people in my life and I am eternally grateful for for.

Dear Grandma,

If there's one thing I don't tell you enough, it's "thank you.” First and foremost, thank you for being born. It might sound funny, but I'm serious. You started this crazy family long ago and it’ll continue to grow as life goes on.

Thank you for supporting me in everything that I do. No matter what it is, you're always there. You always made sure to come to dance recitals or shows that I was in when I was younger. You even came and supported me at field hockey games. Thank you for being there and supporting me and cheering me on. Hands On was by the far the best place on this planet, with the rubber duckys and huge bubbles.

Thank you for being a master in the kitchen. I don't care what anyone says, a grandma's cooking is the best. I don't know what you does to make your macaroni and gravy taste as good it does, but I'm fairly certain it's illegal for something to be that delicious. And you can’t forget my favorite thing to eat, a flat egg! Nobody can make them as great as you do. Thank you for trying to teach me how to cook, so that maybe ( I said maybe meaning which most likely won’t happen) I’ll be able to cook just as great as you someday.

Thank you for your unconditional love. I can't express how much it means to me that I have you apart of my life. You truly are one of the greatest people I have ever known, and I am so happy that God blessed me with you. You have shown the love a grandmother has for her granddaughter, and that is so valuable. I know now the type of grandmother I aim to be. The love that you have for your children sets the perfect example of how to be a great mom. And finally, the love that you have for your grandchildren sets the perfect example of why loving someone is so important.

Thank you for spoiling me in every single way. You have showered me in everything I could have ever wanted or needed. This includes not only materialistic things, but also the things that really count…like food. But in addition to all this, you’ve also spoiled me with your unconditional love and wisdom, which are the best things I could have ever received.

Thank you for always being an unwavering example of strength and wisdom. You went through so many hard times in your life and still continue to be the most amazing woman on this Earth. I wish I was as strong as you.

Thank you for being the only person in the family that knows how to eat mashed potatoes the right way, with a spoon and not a fork. We know how to win at life :).

Thank you for being you. You are the kindest, strongest, funniest, most amazing woman I know. You are my angel on Earth, and every single day I hope to make you proud. You've taught my mother how to be the best person she can be, and now you are teaching me.

I owe my entire life to you, Grandma. You’ve helped make me into the person that I am today and the person who has yet to grow. I genuinely have no idea where I would be without you. Everything we’ve shared together is forever filed in a special part of my brain. A place for only you and me. It is somewhere I can go whenever we aren’t together and I'm missing you. It is a place I can go for advice, a good laugh, and a mood enhancer. You have provided me with so much that I will never be able to pay you back for, but I am going to continue to try every day. I am so unbelievably lucky to have you. Out of all the people in the world, all of the women to become grandmas, I got the best in my life. Nobody will ever have a Grandma KuKu, like you.

I love you to the moon and back, Grandma.

Love,

Your favorite grandchild :)

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
