A Thank You Letter To My Girlfriends

A Thank You Letter To My Girlfriends

Every girl has a group of girlfriends she can count on. Just like Taylor Swift has her own squad, I have mine both at home and away at school. These last few months, I found myself leaning on my girlfriends a little more than usual. Here’s to you, ladies, and everything you’ve done for me.

Thank you for the nights you talked me into going out and having fun, instead of staying in my room alone. While I was already in bed with my pajamas on ready to watch "Gossip Girl," thank you for taking me out. I definitely had a better time dancing and hanging out with my girls than I would have if you let me say no. At the same time, thank you for the nights we stayed in and talked all night. Thank you for drinking wine and watching movies with me as we laughed until we cried.

Thank you for being there for the times I actually cried. Whether it was stress or just an over-emotional situation, having you there made all of the difference. It’s hard to cry in front of others, but having you there with a hug or some junk food helped get me through some hard times. Thank you for drying my tears and getting me to laugh.

Thank you for the times you got me through my most stressful weeks. It’s easy to get caught up in the craziness of a semester away at school. I often found myself packing in more than I could handle in a single week. Having your support and reminders to relax meant the world. When I found myself sitting at my computer with the dreaded writer’s block, thank you for going for a walk or watching a movie with me until I felt ready to write again.

Thank you for the road trips where we blast music and sing at the top of our lungs. Thank you for never denying me the chance to go on an adventure. Whether it’s getting lost on the way to the beach or going on a new hike, it always got me out of my funk. Thank you for challenging me to get out of my comfort zone and take on new experiences. While I tend to be more of a picky eater, thank you for making me try new foods.

Lastly, thank you for always being there. I don’t think words could ever express how much it means to have you ladies there. Sometimes life gets in the way and we get busy. However, thank you for the group chats and the Snapchats to remind me just how lucky I am to have a group of girls like you!

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
