A Thank You Letter

There are people in your life who are meant to impact it. People come and go, and when they leave, they have finished their purpose of being in your life. Relationships change and evolve, they grow and they die. That is just a fact of life. This is a thank you to all of those different people who have impacted the lives of those around them. To all of the people who have made even the smallest difference in someone's life, here you go.

The Parents

Thank you guys for being the ultimate backbone of my existence. Thank you for making me into the person I am today. Thank you for the amazing opportunities and the support to get me to where I am today. Thank you for answering your phone and listening to my life every day. Thank you for always texting me back (most of the time) and reassuring me I am not dying when I am sick. Thank you for the advice that has gotten me through some of my hardest moments. Thank you for the constant love I feel from you every day. Most of all, thank you for being my parents. There may have been rough patches, but I know that, no matter what, you will always be there for me and that is the best gift anyone could give me.

The Best Friend

Thank you for being you. Thank you for always being down to get food no matter what time it is. Thank you for going on drives when I need to clear my head. Thank you for the adventures, even if it just means that we actually went outside today. Thank you for the constant support and reminders that I can do it even when I think that my life is going downhill. Thank you for being there for me no matter what hour of the day it is. Thank you for getting through the rough times with me. Thank you for letting me share my drama with you. Thank you for constantly being as excited about Netflix as I am. Thank you for the hugs and encouragement. Thank you for being as weird as I am and sticking through my mood swings. Most of all, thank you for being you. I would not want anyone else by my side through this crazy experience.

The Squad

Thank you for being my go-to. Thank you for loving me when I don't even love myself. Thank you for reminding me on my bad days that things will get better. Thank you for reminding me that people come and go and that is okay. Thank you for making up for my flaws. Thank you for completing me. Thank you for always being down for food or an adventure or just getting out of the house. Thank you for loving me when I am sick. Thank you for being my rock. Thank you for the constant support. Most of all, thank you for being the most amazing person I have ever met; it takes a special person to love my crazy.

The Significant Other

Thank you for being my number one best friend; my go-to. Thank you for the constant reassurance. Thank you for loving me even when I did not love myself. Thank you for late night food runs and movie nights. Thank you for not making me go out every night and understanding when people just suck. Thank you for reminding me that people come and go and it is okay. Thank you for reminding me some relationships and friendships die but not to be too broken up about it. Thank you for loving me when I am sick and bringing me food. Thank you for always understanding me. Thank you for evening out my flaws and completing me. Most of all, thank you for being you. Without you, who knows where I would be.

Thank you for bringing the best people to my life. Thank you for making me step out of my comfort zone no matter what age I am. Thank you for pushing me to the brink of breaking every finals week but then reminding me I can do it even if I want to rip my hair out at the end of the week. Thank you for making me question my life decisions on a regular basis. Most of all, thank you for bringing me to this point in life; I would not want to be anywhere else.

Thank you for an amazing year.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
