A Thank You Letter

Thank you for making this year more memorable than the last.

There are people in your life who are meant to impact it. People come and go, and when they leave, they have finished their purpose of being in your life. Relationships change and evolve, they grow and they die. That is just a fact of life. This is a thank you to all of those different people who have impacted the lives of those around them. To all of the people who have made even the smallest difference in someone's life, here you go.

Thank you guys for being the ultimate backbone of my existence. Thank you for making me into the person I am today. Thank you for the amazing opportunities and the support to get me to where I am today. Thank you for answering your phone and listening to my life every day. Thank you for always texting me back (most of the time) and reassuring me I am not dying when I am sick. Thank you for the advice that has gotten me through some of my hardest moments. Thank you for the constant love I feel from you every day. Most of all, thank you for being my parents. There may have been rough patches, but I know that, no matter what, you will always be there for me and that is the best gift anyone could give me.

Thank you for getting through the rough times with me. Thank you for letting me share my drama with you. Thank you for constantly being as excited about Netflix as I am. Thank you for bringing the best people to my life. Thank you for making me step out of my comfort zone no matter what age I am. For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
