To my mom,
I wanted to thank you for so many things that you might think I don't appreciate. You taught me how to be a strong woman and how to stand up for what I believe in. You talked me through all the bad break-ups and all the tears I shed after coming home from school. You are my rock and my number one fan. So, heres to you mom.
Thank you for...
1. Letting me dress myself ever since I was little, even though sometimes it meant making a fool of myself in front of my whole school.
2. Understanding me, even though I went through phases and I thought I didn't need you.
3. Holding me when I cry uncontrollably.
4. Showing me how a marriage should be, by loving dad unconditionally.
5. Teaching me how to have a sense of humor and to tell jokes every single day, no matter how lame they are.
6. Giving me your sense of humor, and not shaming me for laughing at something dirty.
7. Allowing me to sleep in your bed when I am scared and sad.
8. Teaching me how to be goofy anywhere, at anytime, whether I am dancing in an elevator or belting out "Anaconda" at a red light.
9. Not judging me if and when I make mistakes.
10. Helping me cope with two terrible break-ups and cracking jokes about them non-stop.
11. Showing me what kind of woman I want to be.
12. Always being the positive one when things get tough.
13. Letting me always do what I want in order to learn from my mistakes.
14. Not putting my brother first, no matter what, even though he will always be more successful than me.
15. Being the best mom anyone could ever have.
So, Mom, thank you for teaching me how to live a happy life, even if I'm not happy all of the time. You made me realize that although friends are extremely important to have, you must put yourself first sometimes. Even when we get in fights and I may not like you, I will ALWAYS love you. I can't stay mad at you very long, and I know that it hurts you when I get mad at you, and I wanted to say I'm sorry. Just remember, you will always be one of my heroes. Thank you for teaching me to be me. I love you.
