A Thank You Letter To Hilary Duff

Dearest Hilary,

I would like to take this time to thank you for all you have done for me.

First, thank you for not screwing up. You are probably the only celebrity that I looked up to as a child that hasn’t turned to drugs, become an alcoholic or became psychotic. Even today, I believe you are a role model to young women.

Thank you for making "Lizzie McGuire" one of the best TV shows, not only of the 2000s, but I’d say, of all time. The show still kills it. Your show was what I looked forward to after school when I was a kid, and it never failed to make me laugh.

"Lizzie McGuire" also taught me valuable life lessons, such as not to wear the same outfit twice in front of the most popular girl in school. You also taught me that I don’t have to be perfect and the best at everything and to celebrate what I do have. One of the most important lessons you taught was to be yourself.

Thank you for always being there for me. When I was little, I used to turn to you for a laugh, or to sympathize with me. "Lizzie McGuire" was always there, as was your music (shout-out to "Come Clean," my jam in 2003 and my jam in 2015). You just kind of understood me. You get it.

Even after you were no longer Lizzie McGuire, you were still an inspiration. You continued to make a living after you got married and had a son. Even though you divorced (I’m still a little emotional, but it’s fine), you didn’t screw up like every other celeb.

You continued to be a role model as well. You didn’t ignore problems within society, such as addressing body image issues that girls face in this generation. You know what to say and how to say it correctly and without being controversial.

YOU EVEN HAD A NEW SINGLE THIS YEAR!!! Could we ask for anymore? No! So Hilary, you still kill it and deserve to be recognized for it. Thanks for being you. Keep on keeping on.

XOXO,
Your Biggest Fan

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
