To my furry four-legged best friend,
I just want to start off by saying thank you. The saying, “A dog is a (wo)mans best friend,” is very accurate. We have been there for each other through the good and bad, and I can’t imagine what life would be like without you.
Thank you for the endless amounts of love.
You are always the first one to greet me the minute I walk through the door, which makes coming home one of my favorite parts of the day. I can’t thank you enough for the kisses and love you give me throughout the day as well as always being able to put a smile on my face whenever I am down.
Thank you for all of the cuddles.
Thank you for the kisses and nudging at my head whenever I prepare to take a nap. Thank you for watching dumb movies that no one else in the family wants to watch, especially when I don’t want to watch them alone. And mostly, thank you for cuddling even when I never asked for it.
Thank you for being my number one fan.
Whenever I need a little encouragement somehow you're always there to give it to me, whether it be licking my entire face, or even when you sit with me while I study for a test or write a paper. Even though you have nothing to say, your presence does it for you.
Thank you for the adventures.
Because of you, I have been to some pretty cool areas. I love making sure I keep you happy and active because it keeps me happy and active. Even if we get lost in the woods sometimes, I know that I have you to count on to help figure out how to get home in one piece (most of the time).
Thank you for dealing with all the selfies I take of us.
I can’t help wanting to show you off to the world. So thank you for putting up with the thousands of Snapchats and selfies I take of us to prove to the world just how cute and snuggly you really are.
Thank you for keeping me safe.
Being home alone always used to scare me when I was younger and sometimes still does to this day. But having you make a huge difference in knowing that you will scare any person away if needed.
Thank you for being you.
Without you, I don’t know what I would do. You have been there though it all, whether it be a breakup or a bad fight with our parents, you always know how to comfort me by licking away the tears or just there to comfort me. Saying goodbye to you is one of the hardest things to do when going back to college or even just leaving the house to go out for the day. But coming home is what makes it all better especially because you greet me as if you haven't seen me in years. So thank you. Thank you for the endless amounts of love, thank you for the snuggles, thank you for your loyalty, thank you for the adventures, thank you for your kisses, thank you for the laughter, thank you for the encouragement, thank you for keeping me safe, thank you for not judging me, and mostly just a thank you for being you.
Sincerely,
Your human best friend
