Dear best friend,
You have been my best friend for so long now. We have too many memories for me to even begin to count. You mean the absolute world to me and I love you more than anything. I just want to take a second to thank you for everything you have helped me through in these last few years. You were always right here for me. Now it is my turn to tell you how much I appreciate you.
Thank you for making my life so much more bearable. I know that we have both struggled a lot, but we made it. I cannot thank you enough for being my shoulder to cry on. Thank you for accepting my FaceTime calls at all hours and not hanging up until I have finished crying. Thank you for always listening to me complain about school and drama and relationships. You never make me feel like I am doing the wrong thing. You always allow me to see things from a different perspective and it is always exactly what I needed.
Thank you for being one of the only people who genuinely understands me. You have never been one to judge me or make me feel like there is something wrong with me. You are one of the most compassionate people I have ever met. You always let me explain myself without judgment. I am not comfortable with many people, but I have told you everything there is to know about me. I have shared some of my biggest secrets with you without any hesitation at all. Thank you for never thinking any less of me.
Thank you for never giving up on me. For how many times I have given up on myself, I know that it is really hard to keep me in line. You are, by far, one of the strongest people I know. I am so unbelievably lucky to have someone like you in my life. I will never understand what I did that made God give me such an incredible best friend. I thank my lucky stars every day that I have a best friend in you.
Thank you for continuing to be my best friend even though I moved three hours away from you. I will not sit here and say that I was never worried about us drifting apart. There were some days where I was positive that all of my high school friends would forget about me and I would never hear from them again. You proved me wrong, though. You are one of the main reasons I get so excited to come home for breaks from school. We never drifted apart and we never left each other. Every time I come home, I look forward to seeing you and getting into some cool shenanigans.
So thank you. Thank you for being my best friend for years. Thank you for absolutely everything you do for me. Thank you for sticking by my side even though I’m now miles away from you at school. This one is for you.
