At most large universities, when you're in a lecture hall of 200 students, it can be somewhat difficult to form a relationship with professors. Sometimes you can feel like a simple face in a crowd, or just a number in a big system. And when you've got a million unanswered questions after leaving a lecture, there's always one person you can turn to for help: your teaching assistant. These unsung heroes are always there to clarify, and to all those amazing TA's who go above and beyond to help us average students, I want to say thank you for all the wonderful things you do.
Thank you for always answering my emails at 2 A.M., panicking because I don't know if this part of the lecture is going to be on the exam tomorrow.
Thank you for cutting me some slack on my paper grade because you understand that I worked hard and the struggle is real out here.
Thank you for taking the time away from your own schoolwork to help me understand something, and being as patient as possible when I STILL don't get it.
Thank you for explaining the confusing ways of our professor, and translating their PhD language to normal-people language.
Thank you for doing the extra things not in your job description, like making us a study guide or holding a special exam review to make sure we're prepared.
Thank you for giving me a real explanation for why I lost points on the paper/exam, and giving me constructive advice on how to improve my work.
And just thank you, for helping me pass this class. Because without you, I'd be lost in a sea of students trying to get the attention of a professor who never responds to my emails. You're a real lifesaver.
