Grand Valley State University,
Thank you for being my home away from home for the past two years. As I prepare to leave the university I have come to know and love, I have to say thank you for a few things.
Thank you for helping me find myself. Between classes and student organizations, you have taught me who I want to be and who I should be. Because of the diverse group of students attending GVSU, I have learned about different religions, and backgrounds of individuals. I am now a better individual because of the friends and people I have met here. You have taught me so many lessons that can't be found in textbooks and I am forever thankful for that.
Thank you for giving me my best friends. The friends I have made here at GVSU have been my biggest support system and will one day become my bridesmaids. I have met people from different walks of life that have taught me about different perspectives.
Thank you for the opportunities. If it was not for you I would not be preparing to spend my fall semester abroad. I would not have served as a leader in my student organization and I would not have gone Greek. You have provided me and my fellow students with so many opportunities to grow and lead. We could never be more thankful.
Grand Valley, as you continue to expand and make more of an impact on our community, I will never forget the impact you have made on me. I am now ready to take on the world, literally, and have the confidence I need when I graduate next April.
Thanks again,
A Laker for a Lifetime
