Thank you for being you.

Graduating college and working my way into the world of being an adult has been tough. I find myself needing to take the time to step back and look at all the wonderful things in my life. One thing that keeps coming up in my mind is the great girlfriends that I have in my life. From friends both new and old, I realize that life would be a whole lot harder if I didn't have such great friends by my side. This is my thank you to all of them.

Thank you for your support. Life is hard and sometimes all you need is a friend who is there for you. From bad relationships to good relationships; from seeing me at my best to seeing me at my worst; from navigating those awkward teenage years to finding out who I am as an adult; you have been there for it all. And for some crazy reason, you still stuck around. You have always been there and I hope that I have been there for you.

“Sometimes being a friend means mastering the art of timing. There is a time for silence. A time to let go and allow people to hurl themselves into their own destiny. And a time to prepare to pick up the pieces when it’s all over.” -Gloria Naylor

Thank you for your laughter. There are only a handful of people who really get my sense of humor, which means I need to hold on to the ones who do. Whether it was the hours we spent laughing at each other, cracking jokes, giggling at movies, or playing endless amounts of games, I know I can always count on you for a good, refreshing, and life-giving laugh.

“A true friend is someone who thinks that you are a good egg even though he knows that you are slightly cracked.”- Bernard Meltzer

Thank you for listening. I know I'm a very chatty person with the people I am comfortable with, so I realize that I have probably talked your ears off more than once. For all the times that I brought up the same problem I was facing just so I could hear your advice again. For every silly little thing that was bothering me that day. For every big idea that I had, thank you for listening. Please know that I am always there to hear what you have to say as well.

“A loyal friend laughs at your jokes when they’re not so good, and sympathizes with your problems when they’re not so bad.”- Arnold H. Glasgow

Thank you for your time. For all the episodes of "Say Yes to the Dress" we have watched; for the hours we spent in school together; for the activities we participated in together; for the things we did separately but still supported each other in; I am forever grateful for the time you have spent with me.

We have spent endless days and nights together, countless hours in a car, and so many hours talking together that I have lost track. It's hard for me to imagine spending this much time with anyone else. These memories are with me every day and I cannot wait to create more in the future with you.

“Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget.” -Unknown

Thank you for being you. I am so grateful to have had stumbled upon you in this crazy life. No matter when we met, elementary school, high school, college, or post-graduation, I cannot imagine my life without you. You continuously inspire me to be a better person and show me what it really means to be a friend. You mean the world to me and I hope life brings you all the best things that this world can offer.

I love you all.

“Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.”- Marcel Proust

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
